Reiki is gentle and powerful all at the same time.  The practitioner is available to the client so that the client can receive the energy.  The practitioner does not direct this healing energy, they are a witness to the healing that occurs.   Reiki is so incredible because it knows what the client needs.  The Reiki treatment is non-invasive, and is done with the client fully clothed usually on a massage table.   A treatment lasts anywhere from 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs.  Light music is usually played so that the client can enjoy relaxing surroundings.      

Animals usually love Reiki.  However, a Reiki session with an animal is done a little differently than with a person.  A practitioner starts sending Reiki distantly and then lets the animal come to them.  If the animal prefers, the practitioner may stay at a distance. The animal decides how much Reiki they would like.  This energy goes to the highest good of the client.
